From a 17th century monastery in a small town in northern Italy to a luxury resort

The property

 

The property for sale was part of a larger block that housed the Monastery of the Clarisse which existed in Cherasco from 1647 to 1802.

 

Thanks to donations, bequests and gifts, the Cherasco Poor Clares had at their disposal huge capital which allowed the constant embellishment of the Monastery and the possibility of hiring famous artists of the time, such as Pietro Paolo Operti who in 1774 frescoed the main staircase with 3 works including the main dedicated “S. Francesco and S. Chiara ”still excellently preserved.

 

Another important work, to date in good condition, on the vault of the refectory there is another fresco by Pietro Paolo Operti: "The glory of Santa Chiara".
